Year 2 Wembury trip May 2025

On Monday 12th May 2025, Year 2 went on a trip to Wembury Beach linked to their geography learning. They started the day exploring the beach by completing a scavenger hunt and litter pick as they have learnt about the importance of protecting marine wildlife. After this, members from the National Trust and volunteers from Devon Wildlife Trust led a rock pooling session. They learnt about the Seashore Code before we started to know how to respect the marine environment and ensure the safety of both themselves and the wildlife. It didn’t take long before many of them fell into the rock pools (thankfully, none of them were bothered by the wet shoes!)! They found starfish, limpets, anemone, a sea scorpion and crabs. After our lunch, they visited the Marine Centre and learnt all about marine life.
